Last year we sowed various vegetables – potatoes, carrots, aubergines, parsnips to name a few, and just a few weeks ago we had a fantastic harvest! Our dedicated garden committee from 3rd – 6th class had been maintaining it over the past few months. A few weeks ago children from 5th & 6th class dug the garden with mini spades and forks. They washed, peeled and chopped the veg in preparation for soup making! The soup was delicious. Thanks to Mrs Mescal for the loan of her huge pot! We had such a fruitful harvest that we decided to hold a mini market – the funds going towards new seeds, compost and digging equipment for next year.
Well done to all involved and thanks to all who supported our market!
